6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Update August 11, 2017

At around 1:28pm the presence of an earthquake in Metro Manila was felt.


According to the android app eQuake, it was magnitude 6.2 and its epicenter is in Tuy, Batangas.








Luckily, this is not the BIG ONE yet!. Everyone was prepared especially in those high rise buildings.

Evacuation of buildings was seen in BGC and Makati.


According to Philvolcs:


Phivolcs upgrades 1:28 PM earthquake to magnitude 6.3. Origin of the quake was recorded at Nasugbu, Batangas.

Inensity 4 - Calapan, Mindoro; Subic, Zambales; Rosario, Cavite; Manila City; Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro


Intensity 3 - Pateros City; Quezon City; Makati City; Malolos, Bulacan; Cainta, Rizal; Calamba, Laguna


Intensity 2 - Magalang, Pampanga; Tanauan City, Batangas

Intensity 1 - Talisay, Batangas

Instrumental Intensities:
Intensity 3 - Calumpit, San Ildefonso, Bulacan; Tagaytay City

Intenisty 2 - Lucban, Quezon


No report on damages to infrastructures.
